 Air France Passenger Jet Missing

An Air France passenger jet (Flight number AF447) is missing after dropping off radar over the Atlantic off the Brazilian coast.

Air traffic control lost contact with the Airbus A330 at 0600 GMT after it took off from Rio de Janeiro bound for Charles de Gaulle airport in Paris, where it had been due to land at 0910 GMT.

Airport authorities have set up a crisis cell at Charles de Gaulle.

Vietnam Airlines signs a membership agreement with SkyTeam
In mid-April, Vietnam Airlines and SkyTeam signed a preliminary agreement confirming the airlines' first step towards full membership into the world's second largest aviation alliance. "Given its existing service to five alliance hubs and its broad international network, Vietnam Airlines is a strategic partner for the alliance."-SkyTeam Steering Committee Chairman and Vice President of International Affairs and Alliances, Air France said.

The GLP promotion that offered members 10,000 bonus points when registering to receive account statements via e-mail expired on December 31, 2008. The Golden Lotus Plus program asks that all members who have not provided a current e-mail address register urgently to ensure that they kept updated on their account status.
